Call for Nominations

Thresher Square

Do you know of someone who has influenced preservation in Minneapolis, championed a local effort to save or celebrate a historic resource in your neighborhood, or has dedicated their lives to preservation efforts in the city? Has your neighbor recently rehabilitated their house in a way that is sympathetic to its history and the neighborhood?  Maybe your church or business built an addition that meets the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards.

If any of these statements ring true here’s your chance to thank that individual or group by nominating them for a Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Commission award.  Once a year Preserve Minneapolis, the Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC), and AIA Minnesota partner in hosting the awards event.  The awards recognize projects, individuals, and organizations that celebrate the heritage and historic character of Minneapolis. For more information on how to nominate a person, organization, or project see the HPC Awards Webpage.  Nominations must be received by 4pm on Friday, April 21st for consideration.

Awards will be presented at the AIA Minneapolis Preservation Awards luncheon held at International Market Square on Thursday, May 18th, 2017, beginning at 11:30 a.m.  The Awards Ceremony is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.

Happy nominating!
